Summary:
Genshin impact is a game where you explore and help people in a magical world called Teyvat. Teyvat has seven nations, each nation is ruled or protected by a god or as they are also called Archons. Each Archon rule a nation, has an ambition and has an element. The element can also be given to people all over Teyvat in the form of vision, which turns them into alogens. Alogens are normal people that can acsend to god hood.
The archons?
There are seven archons corresponding to the seven nations and seven elements. Each archon also has an ambition, something that is the reason they became gods.
- Barbatos archon of anemo (wind) and god of freedom, nation Mondstadt.
- Morax or Rex lapis archon of geo (rock) and god of contracts, nation Liyue.
- Beelzebub archon of electro (eletricity) and god of eternity, nation Inazuma.
- Buer archon of dendro (nature) and god of wisdom, nation Sumeru.
- Focalors archon of hydro (water) and god of justice, nation Fontaine.
- Haborym archon of pyro (fire) and god of war, nation Natlan.
- The Tsaritsa archon of cryo (ice) and god of love, nation Sneznaya.
The thing that gives an archon their power we call a gnosis. They look like chesspieces, with color matching that of it’s archons element. The archons elements can also be given to the people of Teyvat in the form of visions.
Visions and alogens:
How do the playable characters visions work?
Visions make normal people of Teyvat into alognes. The alognes are people that can ascened to celestia which makes them minor gods.
The playable characters all have a vision. The apperence of the vision is diffrent deepending on where you got it, NOT where you are from. For exampel if a character is from Mondstadt and got their vision in Inazuma, they get the Inazuman vision.
The Heavenly principles/ Celestia:
Celestia is the home to all gods, small and big, mighty and weak and so on. The archons do not live in Celestia for they have other duties in their nations. They do have their own knosis that gives them their archon status and connects them to Celestia.
What is the meaning of Heavenly Principles?
But what exactly are the “Heavenly Principles”? In the world of Genshin Impact, the Heavenly Principles are what composes the natural order of the universe. In the original Chinese game language, the Heavenly Principles is also translated to “destiny” and “the divine”.
Archons:
Barbatos:
Barbatos is the archon of anemo or wind and the god of freedom. When he tries to blend in with humans he goes by Venti. When he is Venti he is a poet and a bard, he also plays the lyre.
Barbatos is around 3600 years old and his real form is a tiny elemental being, made up of wind and time.
Barbatos is the protecter of Mondstadt. He does not want to rule over his people, becuse he feels that goes against his ambition of freedom.
Barbatos is mysterious and not much is know about him. So the things we see on the internet about him is conspirisy theorys.
Morax:
Morax has many names he goes by, the people from his nation tend to call him Rex Lapis. But when he tries to blend in with humans he goes by Zhongli. He is the archon of geo and his ideal is contracts he is also over 6000 years old.
Morax faked his death beacuse he felt it was time for a new era where his people could take care of themselves. He is still a god but not an archon.
His nation that now is governed by humans is called Liyue. The humans in Liyue might sometimes need godly help, then they ask the adepti that are friends or pupils of Morax.
Beelzebub:
Beelzebub or Raiden Ei is the electro archon and her ideal is eternity. Raiden is the ruler of Inazuma. She is also well over 3000 years old. She is not the original electro archon, that was her twin sister Makoto. But Makoto died in a war and Ei took her place.
Raiden made a couple hundred years ago a puppet called Kunikuzushi. But when he showed to many emotions she demed him unworthy of serving her . So she made another puppet called the Raiden Shogun. Beelzebub put this puppet she controlled as the ruler of Inazuma and sealed herself in her dead twin sisters sword.
With the sword the Radien Shogun ruled over Inazuma as a tyrant, this was to try and get her Beelzebubs ambition of eternity filled through the nation. So in other words the puppet started an internal war.
Buer:
Buer she also goes by Lesser lord kusanali or Nahida. She is the god of wisdom and is ruler of Sumeru along with being the archon of dendro.
Nahida is the youngest archon at only 500 years old. When the first dendro archon died she was born. The dendro archons are born of the tree Irminsul, they were each a branch of that tree. So when one dies another one is born.
Nahida was imprisoned by her people when she was born. The reason for this was beacuse her people wanted the old dead archon back and they also wanted to use Buers wisdom for themselves.
Focalors:
Focalors is the archon of hydro and her ideal is justice, she’s the ruler of Fontaine the nation of justice.
Focalors and her people got a prophecy it said:
“It is said every person in Fontaine is born with sin, no matter how the nation of justice holds trial after trial this sin can not be absolved, until one day, the water levels in Fontaine will rise, and the sinful people will slowly be drowend… In the end, the people will all be dissolved into the waters, and only the hydro archon will remain , weeping on her throne… Only then will the sins of the people of Fontaine be washed away.”
Focalors came up with a plan so she split her divinity and her human part. She named the human part Furina and put her as the archon, Focalors also cursed Furina so that as long as Focalors as alive Furina coud not die. Furina a human has lived over 500 years.
Haborym:
Haborym is the archon of pyro or fire and the god of war. She also goes by Mauvika, she is an active ruler over her country Natlan that is the nation of war.
Mauvika is a human, or was before she became an archon. Mavuika’s story begins 500 years ago when she sacrificed herself to the flames to save Natlan, a plan intended for her resurrection in the current era. At the time of her sacrifice, she held the position of Archon.
The Tsaritsa:
The Tsaritsa is the archon of cryo or ice and the god of love, she rules over the nation Sneznaya. She is mysterious and not much is know about her, the biggest reason for this is because her nation is yet to be realesed in game. As Genshin Impact is an ongoing game.
The Tsaritsa has started a rebelion against the heavenly principles and celestia. The Tsaritsa does this with the help of her eleven harbingers. In this rebelion she is trying to put a stop to celestias rule over Teyvat.
The game:
Multiplayer game:
Genshin Impact is a game where you can play together. But it does have a limit. The number of characters you can play when you play alone is 4 so that becomes the maximum number on one server. If you are two people playing together you can use 2 characters each. When you are three people one person has 2 (the person who owns the server) the other two have 1 each.
Gacha game:
Genshin Impact is what we call a Gacha game. This is for it’s way of giving characters to the player. In Gacha games this is often called a wishing system. So the game has something you can earn called primogems, with primogems you can buy a wish. There are two types of wishes a standard and limited. The standard is always the same and maybe gets a new characters from time to time. The limited however changes around every 20 days and has a 2 characters to get every time.
You don’t have to wish on every banner as characters have diffrent skills, weapons and elements they control. With different combos you can make different teams. So sometimes it’s good to save the priomogems you get.
